A casual Commander gathering where English is the shared language at the table.

International residents living or working in Japan, Commander players visiting Tokyo, and Japanese players who would like to play Commander in English are all welcome.

No Japanese required. You also do not need to speak perfect English to join.

This is not an English test.

Simple English, card names, gestures, and translation apps are all completely fine. The goal is to enjoy Commander together and communicate as best we can.

Japanese players and English learners are very welcome. However, if someone at your table does not speak Japanese, please use English as much as possible for gameplay and table conversation so that everyone can be included.

This is a casual social Commander event, not a competitive tournament. Before each game, please talk with your pod about your deck’s bracket or power level and try to play with decks of a similar level.

First-time visitors and solo players are very welcome.

We hope ENGLISH COMMANDER at MTG SALON TOKYO can become a place where Commander players from around the world can play together, meet new people, and make new friends in Tokyo.

English-first. Everyone welcome.

Deck Brackets

At the moment, most Commander players at MTG SALON TOKYO are playing Bracket 2–3 decks.

If possible, please bring both a Bracket 2–3 deck and a Bracket 4–5 deck.

We will try to match players with decks of a similar bracket and power level depending on who joins each pod.

It is also completely fine to join with only a Bracket 2–3 deck or only a Bracket 4–5 deck.

Before each game, please talk with your pod about your deck’s bracket and play style so everyone can find a comfortable game.

Online reservations close 24 hours before the event. If you would like to join after the deadline, please ask a staff member first. If we can prepare a seat for you, staff will enable same-day registration.

■ About MTG SALON TOKYO & Our Community

MTG SALON TOKYO is a small independent card shop run by a Japanese watchmaker.

We care not only about money or material things, but also about creating meaningful experiences, friendships, and a community that can make life feel a little richer.

We warmly welcome people who share this idea and would like to support our little shop and community.

If you would like to help us tidy up before an event, propose or run an event of your own, or simply help bring the community together, please feel free to speak with a staff member.

We would be very happy to have you help us grow this place together.

■ Respect and Conduct

Please treat fellow players and shop staff with kindness and respect so everyone can enjoy the event. Behavior or comments that make others uncomfortable or disrupt their experience are not welcome.

Please follow the posted shop rules and staff guidance. Persistent disruptive behavior, serious misconduct, or interference with event operations may result in removal from the event and restrictions on future shop visits or event participation.

■ Personal Hygiene and Fragrances

We’re a small shop with closely spaced seating. Please wear clean clothes and be mindful of sweat, body odor, and breath.

If you’re joining us after work or a busy day, please freshen up with body wipes or a change of clothes as needed. Please also avoid strong perfumes or fragrances.

■ Outside Food & Drinks

Outside food and drinks are welcome. If you consume food or drinks brought in from outside the shop, a ¥500 outside food & drink fee applies per person.

The fee applies to each person who consumes the outside food or drinks, not only to the person who brought them.

For example, if one person brings three canned beers and three people drink them, the total fee is ¥1,500 (¥500 × 3 people).

■ Trading and Giving Cards

Trading, exchanging, or giving cards to other customers inside the shop is not permitted except during store-approved trading events.

If you would like to trade or give a card to another player, please sell the card to the shop first and have the other person purchase it from the shop.

This policy helps us keep our small shop running. Thank you for your understanding and support.

■ Photography and Video

We may take photos and videos of the shop and gameplay during events and share them on our social media or other shop channels.

We would like to casually share the atmosphere of our events and community through photos and videos.

If you prefer not to have your face shown, please let a staff member know before photos or videos are taken each time you attend. We will accommodate your preference when recording and sharing content.
